General information:

Please use the Cardboard Only container for both paper and cardboard.  Paper should be contained in plastic bags & tied; cardboard should be flattened.

Use the commingled container for plastic, glass, aluminum cans and steel food cans.  Take a look at this pdf file for what can and can not be recycled.

For more information on what can be recycled, please see the Madison Streets & Recycling or the Pellitteri Waste System websites.

Electronic Waste:

Computers, monitors and televisions are prohibited from being disposed of in the dumpsters at Olde Towne.  Our waste removal company is not allowed to collect these and dump them in the landfill.  Alternative disposal methods include recycling or donating.

The Madison Streets & Recycling/Computer Recycling and Dane County/Computer Recycling websites are a wealth of information on disposing of computer related materials.

File 13 E-Waste Solutions, LLC will pick up your old electronics at your office at no additional charge.  Please see their website for more information.

Why Recycle Electronics?

  • Electronics are a fast growing portion of America's trash
  • Electronics are made with valuable materials. In 1998, over 112 million pounds of materials were recovered from electronics including steel, glass, plastic, and precious metals.
  • Plus, electronics can present an environmental hazard if they are disposed of improperly. With an average of four pounds of lead in many older TV picture tubes or computer monitors, along with other potentially hazardous materials, electronics call for special handling at the end of their lives.
